Nationwide, there were 18 third prize winners, including seven who won $40,000 each with the Megaplier add-on. The current Mega Millions jackpot has risen to $203 million, with a cash payout of $94.9 million. Mega Millions drawings are broadcast every Tuesday and Friday at 10:12 p.m. CT in Texas. To win the Mega Millions jackpot, players must match all six numbers drawn, including the Mega Ball. The winner, who wished to remain anonymous, won a prize worth $1,000,004 million from the Mega Millions drawing held on July 2. The winning ticket was purchased at a 7-Eleven Convenience Store, located at 17605 Midway Road in Dallas.

The winning Quick Pick ticket without the Megaplier add-on matched all five white ball numbers drawn (4, 8, 19, 31, 45), but not the gold Mega Ball number (11). The Megaplier number was 4X. The claimant had an additional $4 win on the same ticket.

The Plano winner was one of two tickets in the country to win the $1 million second prize. The other winning ticket was purchased in California.

There were also 18 third prize winners nationwide. Seven of them with the Megaplier add-on won $40,000 each, and the remaining 11 tickets won $10,000 each.

The July 2 drawing was part of a jackpot run that is still ongoing. The current run was reset after June 4 when an Illinois resident won a jackpot worth $522 million. That jackpot had a cash value of $209.8 million, which is what most players choose when they collect their winnings.

As of Friday, July 12, the current jackpot has risen to $203 million, with a cash payout of $94.9 million.

Mega Millions is played by selecting five numbers from a field of 70 and one Mega Ball number from a second field of 25 numbers. To win the Mega Millions jackpot, players must match all six numbers drawn, including the Mega Ball. Players who match fewer numbers may not win the jackpot, but can still walk away as winners. Mega Millions currently offers a starting jackpot of $20 million and a second prize (Match 5+0) of $1 million. The jackpot grows from there based on ticket sales.

Players can also opt to add Megaplier for $1 more per play, giving them the chance to multiply all non-jackpot wins by two, three, four or five times. That means second-tier prizes could be worth as much as $5 million.

The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 302,575,350 to 1, while players have a 1 in 12,607,306 chance of winning a second tier prize.
