Manchester City’s Rodri Praised as ‘World-Class’ Ahead of Euro 2024 FinalManchester City’s Rodri Praised as ‘World-Class’ Ahead of Euro 2024 Final Manchester City has established itself as the dominant force in English football, boasting a squad of exceptional talent. The club’s dominance has been further highlighted by the fact that 14 City players have been selected to represent their countries at Euro 2024, more than any other top club. Among the English players vying for success this weekend is Rodri, who has been singled out by pundit Simon Jordan as a player of exceptional quality. “Rodri is in a class of his own,” Jordan proclaimed. “He is the best player in his position, capable of playing for any international or domestic team.” Jordan praised Rodri’s role as the orchestrator of Spain’s midfield, emphasizing his ability to control the tempo and dictate the flow of the game. “He is the embodiment of what a world-class player looks like,” Jordan added. England will face a daunting task in containing Rodri in the Euro 2024 final. The Spanish midfielder finished the Premier League season with an impressive performance rating of 7.62/10 from WhoScored, ranking among the top performers in the league. Micah Richards has also lauded Rodri as the world’s finest defensive midfielder. His statistics at the Euros further reinforce this claim, highlighting his dominance in passing and tackling. To overcome Spain in Sunday’s final, England will need to limit Rodri’s influence on the game. His exceptional ability to control possession and dictate the tempo could prove crucial in determining the outcome.

Manchester City has developed into the absolute top club in English football in recent years.

The fact that Pep Guardiola’s team have now become the first to win four consecutive Premier League trophies shows just how strong City’s squad is.

When you consider that the Manchester club have selected more first-team players (14) to play for their country at Euro 2024 than any other top club, it further underlines the quality they have in their ranks.

With a handful of these players preparing to take part in this weekend’s final between England and Spain, one expert has singled out one of them as particularly impressive.

Simon Jordan says Rodri is in a class of his own

Simon Jordan had this to say about Rodri during this Sunday’s grand final on talkSPORT.

He said: “England have the capacity with players who can match the Spaniards. Not Rodri, Rodri lives in a world of his own. He is the best player in that position, he fits into any international framework, any domestic team, he is a masterclass.

“I think a lot of what Spain does goes through him. He is the orchestrator of the calibre and the thinking of the side, the quality of the side.

“He’s a player that I think when we talk about world-class players, we throw that phrase around like confetti, and I think he’s the embodiment of what a world-class player looks like because I think he would play in any international team, any national team, anywhere in the world.”

England will have to contain Rodri in the final

Rodri finished the previous Premier League season with an overall performance rating of 7.62/10 from WhoScored, the second highest in the entire division. There is no doubt that he is one of the best midfielders in Europe.

Micah Richards even said earlier this week that the Spaniard is currently the best defensive midfielder in the world.

Rodri completed more passes (379) and made more successful tackles in midfield than any other Spanish player at the Euros. It is clear that England will have to do everything they can to contain City’s star man on Sunday and ensure he has as little impact on the game as possible.
