Police were called to a bank in Edinburgh on Thursday after a “suspicious” package was delivered.

Emergency services were called to the Lloyds Banking Group building in the city’s Fountainbridge area shortly after 12.30pm on July 11 after reports of a suspicious object.

The package was found to contain no harmful substances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 12.40pm on Thursday 11 July 2024, police were informed that a suspicious package had been delivered to a business premises on Fountainbridge in Edinburgh.

“The emergency services were on site

“After investigation, it turned out that the package did not contain any harmful substances.”
