Among the special guests at the celebration were John’s colleagues, Kathleen Bhuiyan and Martina O’Leary, who have collectively served Great Southern Killarney for over 125 years. Together, they embody the spirit of loyalty and commitment that has sustained the hotel for decades. According to the hotel management, John is renowned for his unwavering dedication. Even during quieter periods, he embarked on international journeys to enhance his skills, visiting renowned destinations such as Frankfurt, Amsterdam, London, Paris, and St. Louis, Missouri. John’s exceptional service extends beyond the hotel’s walls. In 1970, he had the honor of being part of the team that accompanied the cast and crew of the iconic film “Ryan’s Daughter” during its filming. His contributions to the film’s success brought pride to both the hotel and the community. To make the occasion even more special, John’s sisters traveled from America and Spain to surprise him. Their presence at the celebration was a testament to the deep bonds he has forged with his family and colleagues over the years. John, Kathleen and Martina have worked for Great Southern Killarney for over 125 years in total.

According to the hotel management, John is known for his dedication, humor and exceptional service.

They praised his dedication, saying that during the quieter periods he worked around the world to hone his skills, including in Frankfurt, Amsterdam, London, Paris and St. Louis, Missouri.

In 1970, he was part of the team that accompanied the cast and crew of the film “Ryan’s Daughter” during filming.

His sisters also came from America and Spain to surprise him.
