The minister conveyed this directive during a meeting with a KE delegation led by CEO Syed Moonis Abdullah Alvi. Aurangzeb emphasized the need for KE to accelerate its plan for adding cost-effective generation capacity, with the aim of reducing electricity costs for consumers. The delegation informed the minister that the agreement signed between the government and KE earlier this year has resolved several challenges, and that KE is actively working on implementing new generation projects to enhance its electricity mix. Additionally, the delegation raised the issue of delayed payments of KE consumer bills collected through the post office. The minister assured KE that their concerns would be addressed.

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb on Monday asked K-Electric (KE) to focus on improving service delivery in Karachi, ARY News reported.

The minister made these remarks while speaking to a delegation of K-Electric who visited him here. The delegation members included Chief Executive Officer (CEO) K-Electric Syed Moonis Abdullah Alvi, CFO KE Muhammad Aamir Ghaziani and Chief Regulatory Affairs Muhammad Imran Qureshi.

He asked the KE team to focus on improving service delivery in Karachi and accelerate the plan to add cheaper generation capacity to bring down electricity costs.

Meanwhile, the representatives said the agreement signed between the government and KE earlier this year had addressed a number of issues and that KE was now working hard to implement the new generation projects to improve the electricity mix.

The delegation raised the issue of delayed payments of KE’s consumer bills collected through the post office. The Minister assured K-Electric that it would address its issues regarding delayed payments.
