Public Meeting Addressed by Principal Secretary of Agriculture ProductionPublic Meeting Addressed by Principal Secretary of Agriculture Production Principal Secretary of the Department of Agriculture Production (APD), Shailendra Kumar, led a public meeting in Budgam to discuss public concerns and evaluate service delivery. During the meeting, Kumar listened to the concerns and demands of the public and reviewed the progress of ongoing development works. He emphasized the need for prompt and efficient service delivery and encouraged community participation in addressing social issues such as drug abuse and waste management. Kumar urged residents to support the Swachhata campaign and highlighted the importance of proper waste disposal. He emphasized the role of public participation in monitoring government initiatives and ensuring their successful implementation. Public delegations presented their grievances and demands to the Principal Secretary, who assured them of prompt action. Budgam Deputy Commissioner Akshay Labroo stated that the suggestions would be addressed with utmost attention. The meeting was attended by senior police and administration officials, including the SSP of Budgam, Director of Agriculture Kashmir, Director of Horticulture Kashmir, Director of Sericulture, and other district officers.

BUDGAM, JULY 5 (KNS): Principal Secretary, Department of Agriculture Production (APD), Shailendra Kumar today chaired a public meeting at the conference hall in Budgam.

The APD Chief Secretary initially listened to the public’s problems and demands and then assessed the overall public service delivery in the district.

Speaking on the occasion, Shailendra Kumar encouraged the district administration to ensure prompt delivery of services in the district.

The APD Chief Secretary confirmed that all ongoing development works have been completed on time and the completed projects have been put into use for public use.

Shailendra Kumar urged the people to play a positive role in curbing drug abuse and behave as responsible citizens and help the police and civic administration in tackling the problem effectively.

He also appealed to the general public to cooperate in the successful implementation of Swachhata campaign in all the towns and rural areas of the district. He also created awareness among the public about the importance of dumping of waste and its proper disposal.

Shailendra Kumar appreciated the public participation in such programmes and stressed on the need to create great awareness about government programmes and services.

He said that public participation in interaction programmes or public darbars is important to make the public a part of the development activities of the government and to ensure successful implementation of flagship initiatives and welfare schemes at the local level. Public delegations from different parts of the district raised their issues and demands before the Chairman.

While noting the genuine demands of the general public, the APD Chief Secretary said that these will be discussed with the concerned parties so that prompt and adequate action can be taken.

Speaking on the occasion, Budgam Deputy Commissioner Akshay Labroo said that all directions and suggestions have been duly recorded and they will be complied with in letter and spirit.

DC said that a report on the action taken should also be submitted and the district administration should continue to provide services at the same pace.

It is pertinent to mention that the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has deployed the Administrative Secretaries to organise Public Darbars in the allotted districts to hear and redress the grievances of the general public.

SSP Budgam, Director Agriculture Kashmir, Director Horticulture Kashmir, Director Sericulture, ADC and all other district and sectoral officials were also present on the occasion. (KNS)
