A club director has confirmed that one of Manchester United’s targets ‘deserves’ a move to Old Trafford this summer.

The Reds are planning major changes this summer after INEOS took over control of the club earlier this year.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s team has built a solid structure behind the scenes, including Omar Berrada as CEO, Dan Ashworth as Sporting Director and Jason Wilcox as Technical Director.

No reinforcements for the field have been confirmed yet, but two important additions to Erik ten Hag’s technical staff are expected in the coming days.

Ruud van Nistelrooy and Rene Hake will strengthen Ten Hag’s coaching unit to freshen up Carrington.

Fabrizio Romano claims that formal documents are being prepared to allow both men to join the club ahead of the pre-season.

The 52-year-old Hake is currently head coach at Eredivisie club Go Ahead Eagles and helped the club achieve their best league result in the Dutch top division last season.

Nevertheless, Paul Bosvelt, technical director of Go Ahead, made a stylish gesture and explained that the club will not stand in the way of their manager.

“It has been going on for a week and a half now and we would like clarity,” Bosvelt told Voetbal International.

“This is a step we do not want to deprive René of. He deserves it immensely.”

According to Voetbal Primeur, Bosvelt also confirmed that Hake has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave for ‘a few hundred thousand’.

Hake worked closely with Ten Hag at FC Utrecht. It is unknown whether current assistant coach Mitchell van der Gaag will remain at Old Trafford.
