“Exciting” is what Emma D’Arcy called her storyline in the final season of House of the Dragon.
During an interview with Additional televisionThe actress, who uses the pronouns they/them, called her ongoing trajectory “a hell of an arc,” saying, “We pick up about two weeks later,” adding, “We just saw her receive the news of the death, the murder of her son. She’s overcome with grief.”
They noted: “It’s a hell of a storyline. So much changes in every episode. That’s kind of why I find it so exciting.”
Emma, meanwhile, commented on the constant changes in the series and the efforts they had to make to keep up.
“There’s so much change in every episode, which is why I find it so exciting. But for me, the biggest challenge of this piece was to make sure you maintain that context throughout.”
The 32-year-old also said that season two raised questions about Rhaenyra Targaryen’s leadership qualities.
“As always, Rhaenyra is surrounded by people who are endlessly critical of her, her choices, her war strategy, and her potential as a ruler. I think that in season 2, she will look for other solutions.”
