The property, leased by Buffalo City Metro to Chippa United Football Club chairman Siviwe Chippa Mpengesi, has been the subject of ongoing disputes between Mpengesi and the bowling club over management of the facility. This week, Mpengesi reached a settlement agreement with the bowling club, allowing them to vacate the premises by July 31. However, Mpengesi emphasized that the club would be allowed to return if they agreed to his proposed transformation plans. The dispute between Mpengesi and the bowling club has centered on the latter’s refusal to comply with his proposed changes to the facility. Mpengesi has claimed that the club has failed to maintain the property and has violated the terms of its lease. The bowling club, on the other hand, has accused Mpengesi of attempting to force them out of the premises in order to use it for his own purposes. The settlement agreement reached between the two parties will allow the bowling club to move to a new location. However, it remains to be seen whether the club will accept Mpengesi’s transformation plans if it wishes to return to the Arcadia facility.
