Looking for something fun to do outside of Ohio this summer? Four of the world’s best skylines, complete with iconic buildings and towering skyscrapers, are within driving distance of Ohio.

Architectural Digest has compiled a list of 17 beautiful skylines around the world. If an Ohioan is up for a quick road trip, he or she should definitely visit these places.

Here they are. (Distances and times are based on Google Maps estimates.)

Chicago, Illinois

  • Distance from Columbus: 356 miles, approximately 5 hours and 30 minutes
  • Distance from Cincinnati: 295 miles, 4 hours and 45 minutes
  • Distance from Akron: 367 miles, 5 hours and 40 minutes

Are you a fan of the Windy City in the Midwest? Chicago’s skyline soars over Lake Michigan, with iconic tall buildings like Willis Tower (the tallest building in Illinois), John Hancock Tower, Vista Tower, and Marina City.

Chicago’s spacious lakeside parks and pedestrian areas allow you to enjoy the skyline without having to get in the water.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin

  • Distance from Columbus: 453 miles, 6 hours and 50 minutes
  • Distance from Cincinnati: 391 miles, 6 hours
  • Distance from Akron: 467 miles, 7 hours

Milwaukee is slightly smaller than Chicago and is a forgotten Midwestern city that deserves recognition, according to Architectural Digest. Milwaukee’s skyline also meets Lake Michigan, including the city’s stunning Art Deco work by architect and engineer Santiago Calatrava.

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

  • Distance from Columbus: 428 miles, 6 hours and 30 minutes
  • Distance from Cincinnati: 492 miles, 7 hours and 30 minutes
  • Distance from Akron: 314 miles, 5 hours and 15 minutes

You’ll need your passport for this spot, but according to Architectural Digest, it’s worth the trip.

Toronto’s skyline lights up the Canadian sky with its iconic CN Tower, which looks like a giant, glowing needle next to the dome-like Rogers Centre. These historic structures connect the rest of Toronto’s buildings together, painting the perfect skyline.

New York, New York

  • Distance from Columbus: 556 miles, 8 hours and 30 minutes
  • Distance from Cincinnati: 659 miles, 10 hours
  • Distance from Akron: 446 miles, 6 hours and 50 minutes
