The 96-year-old former deputy prime minister had been discharged from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) a few days earlier after spending a night there. A source at Apollo Hospital confirmed Advani’s admission around 9 pm. He is reportedly in stable condition and under observation by Dr. Vinit Suri, a senior consultant in neurology. Details of Advani’s illness are not yet known. He has been hospitalized for various health issues in the past, including pneumonia and respiratory infections. Advani is one of the most senior leaders in the BJP and was instrumental in the party’s rise to power in the 1990s. He served as deputy prime minister from 1998 to 2004 under the leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

According to sources, veteran BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani was admitted to the Apollo Hospital here on Wednesday evening.

This came days after the 96-year-old former deputy prime minister was discharged from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) after spending a night there.

“Advani is stable and under observation. He has been admitted under Dr Vinit Suri, senior consultant, Neurology,” a source at the hospital said, adding that he was admitted around 9 pm.

Details of Advani’s illness were not immediately known.
