DK Oysterbar in Mykonos is again being criticised for its prices.

The infamous beach club is known for its expensive menu. Some tourists have been left stunned (and even losing money) after ordering from this beachside eatery.

Earlier today (July 3) we told you about a couple of holidaymakers who were left furious after they were reportedly charged £690 for just two drinks.

The tourists visited DK Oyster in Platys Gialos, Mykonos, and according to the review on TripAdvisor, they could use the beach beds for free, provided they ordered something.

Sounds reasonable.

But what they didn’t expect was a bill of almost £700 for just a few drinks.

The user wrote: “No problem…I ordered 2 drinks, which we later found out cost 51 euros (£43) each.

“As if that wasn’t crazy enough, we returned to the States and were charged $876 (£690) FOR 2 DRINKS!!!!!

“BEWARE and avoid this place!!”

This is not the first time this has happened.

In 2023, American tourist Amber Pace was with her friend Aubrey when they decided to try the food. However, they did not expect to pay so much for it.

Amber told The Sun: “I just saw that the fried calamari I ordered was £17 (€20), and my friend ordered the king crab legs which were £28 (€32).

“Our waiter gave us a paper receipt that said £85 (€98) for fried calamari and £160 (€185) for king crab legs. We nearly lost it.”

Amber claimed that the manager dismissed their complaint and blamed them for not paying attention to the menu.

Over the years, TripAdvisor users have shared images of the menu online. The prices are definitely on the high side.

For example, small cocktails cost €25 (£21), while a fresh orange juice costs €18 (£15) and a cup of coffee €15 (£12.70).

Last summer, the restaurant shared some images of their menu to clear up any confusion.

A Caesar salad with jumbo prawns costs €87.50 (£74), a club sandwich costs €44.50 (£37) and a breakfast omelette will set you back almost €25 (£21).

Some seafood prices are also per 100 grams, which may have caused confusion among guests.

DK Oyster Manager Dimitrios Kalamaras previously told The Sun: “Our sunbeds have a minimum consumption requirement so we encourage all visitors to check the menus before placing their order.

“I would like to point out that our menus are displayed on boards at the entrance. These list the prices of our food and drinks so that our guests are kept informed.”

He added: “At DK Oyster we have advertised in a way that we consider appropriate for our restaurant. We will not give in to the influencers who are attracted to the beautiful island of Mykonos.

“We believe that the experience offered is valuable and we don’t want to explain why we charge more than a supermarket or a traditional taverna. That can be great, but it is undoubtedly a completely different concept to ours.”
