Second Session: Role of Data and Safety Monitoring Committees (DSMCs) This session will focus on the role of DSMCs in overseeing clinical trials and the ethical considerations they must address. DSMCs play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of clinical trial participants by reviewing data and making recommendations to the trial steering committee. The Regional Program for Bioethics and the Unit for Quality and Regulation of Medicines and Health Technologies of PAHO invite you to participate in the second session of this series of virtual seminars that will address topics related to clinical trials. Many topics are at the intersection of ethical and regulatory aspects.
The second session focuses on the role of DMCs and the ethical considerations that these committees should take into account when reviewing data from ongoing clinical trials.
