Travelers Kitchen: A Culinary Journey with African, Afro-Mex, and Asian FlairTravelers Kitchen: A Culinary Journey with African, Afro-Mex, and Asian Flair Nestled at the address 1731 S. MacArthur Boulevard in Springfield, Travelers Kitchen invites diners to embark on a culinary adventure with its eclectic mix of dishes inspired by West Africa, Afro-Mex, and Asia. Ambiance and Decor Step inside and be greeted by vibrantly colored African-inspired tablecloths that hint at the eatery’s diverse influences. The exterior of the building, however, could benefit from a revamp with reduced signage and trimmed vegetation to create a more inviting atmosphere. Menu Highlights The menu tantalizes with a curious array of options, from wings and burgers to West African classics like Domoda and Fufu. My Order For an appetizer, we shared a flavorful samosa filled with beef and vegetables ($2.70). As a main course, I savored the Domoda, a peanut butter soup with tender beef and mixed vegetables served with fluffy white jasmine rice ($15.59). My companion opted for the hearty burrito filled with beef, rice, and vegetables ($12.50). What I Loved The dishes boasted intriguing spice profiles that danced on our palates. The generous portions ensured a satisfying meal. My companion particularly enjoyed the unique twist on the burrito with its infusion of vegetables and bold flavors. What Could Be Improved The exterior of the building could use some sprucing up to enhance the overall dining experience. Next Time I would eagerly try the Fufu with goat pepper soup, a traditional West African dish ($18.99). The Jerk Chicken with rice and beans ($15.35) also holds great appeal for its vibrant Jamaican flavors. Conclusion Travelers Kitchen offers a delightful culinary adventure with its fusion of global cuisines. While the exterior aesthetics could be enhanced, the inviting ambiance and tantalizing menu make it a worthwhile destination for those seeking an eclectic dining experience.

I like this: Our meals had interesting spices. The portions were generous. My companion enjoyed the twist of his burrito with vegetables and flavors. The menu offers a curious variety of dishes to experience.

Dislikes: The outside of the building looks full of signs and overgrown weeds and vegetation. I can imagine the area being cleaned up and decorated with some outdoor travel-inspired decorations, making for a nice outdoor dining area.

What should I order next time? I would try the Fufu (pounded yam) with goat pepper soup, spiced goat cubes slow cooked with carrots and potatoes ($18.99) or the Jerk Chicken with rice and beans ($15.35).
