Ganesh Nanekar, a 46-year-old auto-rickshaw driver, has been cultivating and maintaining a garden in his auto-rickshaw for the past year.

“Both my wife and I love gardening. Together we have integrated 18 planters into the car,” he says.

He started using PVC pipes and water pipes as planters, but they took up too much space. He then started making custom planters and iron stands, which allowed him to plant more!

From moss grass, roses to money plants, you name it, and the auto rickshaw has it all. As cities turn into concrete jungles, this man does his utmost to keep his small car green.

These efforts were a success among customers. “They love it and also say that there is a cool breeze blowing in the auto-rickshaw,” he says.

So the next time you see an auto-rickshaw with plants, it’s probably Ganesh’s green vehicle!
