Emma Raducanu returns to Wimbledon for the first time in two years. The former US Open champion will face a late change of opponent on Center Court today.

Raducanu was scheduled to face 22nd seed Ekaterina Alexandrova, but the Russian pulled out injured at the last minute on Monday. This means that she will now face the Mexican lucky loser and number 98 in the world, Renata Zarazua.

The British missed the tournament last year due to surgery on both wrists and an ankle, but has already shown that she is in good shape on the grass field in the run-up to the championships.

The Wimbledon wildcard secured her first victory over a top 10 opponent when she beat Jessica Pegula in Eastbourne, and Raducanu is confident ahead of the tournament.

Before the change of opponent, Raducanu played down expectations, saying she would be “over the moon” if she made it past the first round. But now that she’s up against a lower-ranked player, it certainly presents a chance. Here’s everything you need to know.

When is Emma Raducanu against Renata Zarazua?

Raducanu vs Zarazua is the second match of three on Center Court today. As usual, the match will be opened on Center Court by the reigning men’s champion, with Carlos Alcaraz taking on qualifier Mark Lajal.

Alcaraz’s match starts around 1.45pm BST and if the Spaniard is on form he can expect to win within a few hours, although he is taken to a tiebreak in a first set, which he narrowly wins.

So Raducanu could count on being on the field around 4 p.m Monday afternoon, but it could also be a little later.
