How Victoria Beckham ‘threateningly’ landed a date with David
Victoria Beckham was already pretty rude to David.
In a resurfaced excerpt from her book Learn to flythe former Spice Girls revealed how she handled her first dates with the legendary footballer.
Victoria met David after a Manchester United football match in 1997 and recalled in her book: ‘We looked at each other. We both knew it. I said, ‘Go ahead, give me your number and I’ll call you.’ “No,” he said as quickly as lightning. ‘Give me your number.’”
She then went on to say that as he was leaving, Victoria gave him a strict warning, saying, “I said. ‘I’m telling you, Mr. David Beckham, that if you don’t call me, I’ll kick your ass the next time I see you.’”
The text follows an interview with The Sun in which David raved about his wife. In it he talked about the exact moment he fell in love with Victoria. He claimed he knew she was the one before he even met her.
On the couple’s 25th wedding anniversary, the former England captain said: “I always said that once I met Victoria I would be with her forever. A few months before we met I was abroad with the England team. Gary Neville and I were sitting in the hotel room and a Spice Girls video came on.”
David continued: “I think it was ‘Say You’ll Be There.’ I pointed to the screen and said, ‘That’s the girl for me and I’m going to have her. It was her eyes, her face. She’s my idea of perfection.”
