New Delhi: BCCI secretary Jay Shah has confirmed that two names have been shortlisted for the role of head coach of Team India. With Rahul Dravid’s tenure finally coming to an end as he signs a highlight reel with the 2024 T20 World Cup win, the positions now remain vacant and a new coach will be announced soon. The BCCI had started accepting applications for the job last month.

Several media reports have mentioned the name of Gautam Gambhir, who is reportedly the favorite to succeed Dravid and don the head coaching hat for Team India. World Cup winner Gambhir had a successful stint with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as their mentor, which earned them their third Indian Premier League (IPL0) title. It is also no secret to Gambhir who recently expressed his interest in taking up the job.
