Carries House of the Dragon in the UK

Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon returned to TV in June, promising more fantastic battles, family drama and flying, fire-breathing lizards, with eight new episodes premiering on June 16 to the final August 4th.

Season 2 of the series, set in the world of George RR Martin’s epic fantasy novel A Song of Ice and Fire, but hundreds of years earlier, picks up the Targaryen dynasty in turmoil. King Aegon’s Green Council and Queen Rhaenyra’s Black Council are heading towards all-out war, with both factions claiming to be the one and only monarch.

The new batch of episodes sees the return of original stars Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Paddy Considine and Eve Best, while new cast members for season 2 include Raised By Wolves actor Abubakar Salim as Alyn van Hull, Glow’s Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers and Cucumber actor Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower.

Here’s how to watch season 2 of House of the Dragon. And how a virtual private network can be useful while streaming.

Tips for streaming House of the Dragon season 2 with a VPN

  • Experience and success may vary depending on four variables: your ISP, browser, video streaming provider, and VPN.
  • If you don’t see your desired location as a default option for ExpressVPN, try the ‘Search by city or country’ option.
  • If you’re having trouble watching after enabling your VPN and setting it to the correct viewing area, there are two things you can try for a quick fix. First, log in to your streaming service subscription account and make sure that the address registered to the account is in the correct viewing area. If it isn’t, you may need to change the physical address stored with your account. Second, some smart TVs, like Roku, don’t have VPN apps that you can install directly on the device itself. Instead, you’ll need to install the VPN on your router or the mobile hotspot you’re using (like your phone) so that every device on the Wi-Fi network will now appear in the correct viewing location.
  • All the VPN providers we recommend have helpful instructions on their main site for quickly installing the VPN on your router. In some cases with smart TV services, after installing a network app you will be asked to verify a numeric code or click a link sent to your email address saved for your smart TV . This is where a VPN on your router also helps, as both devices will appear in the correct location.
  • Remember that browsers can often reveal your location despite using a VPN, so make sure you use a privacy-first browser to log into your services. We usually recommend Brave.
