This commitment was reiterated by Deputy Governor Comrade Joel Salifu Oyibo during a quarterly meeting of Secretaries of State Governments under the All Progressive Congress (APC). The government acknowledged the critical role played by Secretaries of Government (SSGs) in the success of state administrations, emphasizing the significance of collaboration between governors and their SSGs. Deputy Governor Oyibo stressed the importance of loyalty, dedication, innovation, confidentiality, and diligence in the execution of SSG duties. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Folashade Arike Ayoade, Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, hailed the meeting as a testament to the spirit of collaboration and progressive governance within the APC. She highlighted the achievements of previous administrations in security, health, education, agriculture, and infrastructure as evidence of the collaborative efforts and innovative leadership. Dr. Ayoade commended Governor Yahaya Bello for establishing a foundation upon which incumbent Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is continuing to build, expressing confidence in Governor Ododo’s ability to uphold the principles of integrity, inclusivity, and innovation. The Acting Director General of the Progressive Governors Forum, Mr. Folorunsho Aluko, outlined the forum’s objectives, including promoting human development, poverty eradication, job creation, and overall improvement of citizens’ lives. He emphasized the forum’s aim to leverage the strengths of each APC-controlled state while influencing federal policies on independent power generation and student loan programs.

The Kogi State Government has assured the Forum of Progressive Secretaries of the State Governments of its commitment to enforcing human development policies and programs aimed at improving the quality of life of its citizens.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo reiterated his administration’s readiness to implement the resolutions of the Forum during the quarterly meeting of Secretaries of State Governments under the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.
Representing Governor Ododo at the event, the Deputy Governor of the state, Comrade Joel Salifu Oyibo, stressed the importance of collaboration between Governors and their Secretaries of Government, highlighting the crucial role SSGs play in the success of any state government .
Governor Ododo, through his deputy, urged the SSGs to demonstrate loyalty, dedication, innovation, confidentiality and diligence in the discharge of their official duties.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining trust and integrity in their roles.
In her welcome speech, Dr. Folashade Arike Ayoade, the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, warmly welcomes the Secretaries to the Government of the states under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
She described the conference as a gathering to celebrate the spirit of collaboration, excellence and progressive governance.
“Today we not only gather to discuss the vital issues affecting our states and our nation, but we are also here to celebrate the spirit of cooperation, excellence and progressive governance that defines our party and our collective missions. This conference serves as a crucial platform for us to share insights, strategies and best practices that will promote the development and prosperity of our respective states,” she said.
Dr. Folashade highlighted the achievements of previous governments as evidence of collaborative leadership and innovative governance.
She noted that significant progress has been made in several areas such as security, health, education, agriculture and infrastructure.
Moreover, she emphasized that the success of governance in the state had received recognition from credible local and international bodies.
She commended His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for laying a solid foundation on which the incumbent Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, is building.
Dr. Folashade expressed confidence that Governor Ododo would exceed the standards of his predecessor by upholding the principles of integrity, inclusivity and innovation.
The Acting Director General of the Forum, Mr. Folorunsho Aluko, explained that the Progressive Governors Forum was established in 2013 to mobilize the governments of APC countries in promoting human development, poverty eradication, creating of jobs and the overall improvement of citizens’ lives.
He further stated that the Forum aims to identify and leverage the unique advantages of each state within the APC controlled states, while reviewing and improving the Federal Government’s policies on independent power generation and student loan programs to influence.
