On June 25, a team was dispatched to Pune, where Bagdi was detained. Investigations revealed that Salika and Bagdi were lovers living in Pune before Salika relocated to Mumbai three years ago. They resided in Andheri and ran the racket together. They possessed fake Aadhar cards, PAN cards, and a bank account. Social media was used to solicit clients from Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Lonavala, Goa, and other locations. The women were then sent to entertain customers. “We discovered that Salika and Bagdi were lovers. They used social media to entice customers and sent the ladies to provide services,” stated Maloji Shinde, senior anti-extortion inspector at Thane police. The police are now determining the extent of the racket and how many individuals were ensnared. They are also investigating the issuance of fake Aadhar cards and PAN cards to the suspects. Charges against the suspects include human trafficking under Article 370(2) and (3) of the Indian Criminal Code, as well as forgery and use of forged documents under the Indian Penal Code and the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking in Human Beings Act.

Police said the suspect Salika was arrested on June 21. Two teams were formed and one team scanned her documents. They discovered that she had a fake Aadhar and PAN card. During interrogation, she revealed that her documents were sent by Bagdi Abdullah Mughead Sad, a resident of Pune, and originally belonged to Yemen.

According to police, one team was sent to Pune and arrested Bagdi Abdullah on June 25. Police said that when they checked the passport and visa of both suspects, they found that it was expired and that they were living in India without proper documents.

Police booked a case under Section 14(A)(C) of the Foreigners Act and relevant sections 467 (Forgery of valuable security and will), 468 (Forgery for the purpose of cheating), 471 (Use as genuine any forged document or electronic record), and 34 (Common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. The police investigated the case and suspected that more people were involved.

Maloji Shinde, senior anti-extortion inspector at Thane police, said, “During investigation, we found that Salika and Bagdi are lovers and they were previously living in Pune.
