The Canadian pair will switch from their usual Subaru USA Impreza for this event, aiming to enhance Semenyuk’s experience and speed in the Rally 2 category. Rally Latvia is a new addition to the WRC calendar, providing a level playing field for competitors. Semenyuk expressed his excitement for the challenge, viewing it as an opportunity to improve his skills and competitiveness. “I’ve been thinking about doing this for a while,” Semenyuk said. “It’s going to be a lot different than what I’m used to, but I’m excited for the new experience.” Williams, with extensive WRC experience, is thrilled to return to the championship. He previously partnered with Takamoto Katsuta and Josh McErlean in top-tier machinery. “It’s really exciting to go to Latvia,” Williams said. “We’re under no illusions that it won’t be easy, but we’re looking forward to it.” The duo recently claimed another ARA victory at the Southern Ohio Forest Rally, navigating a challenging course with technical stages and tire wear issues. They ultimately secured a one-minute lead over teammate Travis Pastrana, despite a minor off-road incident on the final day. Semenyuk and Williams’ participation in Rally Latvia will not only test their abilities but also provide valuable experience for their ongoing ARA campaign. Their goal is to continue their development and fine-tune their skills as they pursue a third consecutive ARA title.
