Elsie “Ellie” Lydia Kosmick passed away peacefully on Friday, April 26, 2024 at the age of 87, beloved wife of 68 years of Gordon Kosmick of Medicine Hat. She also leaves to cherish her memory their children Dean Kosmick, Kelly Curtin, Samuel Kosmick and Russell Kosmick; a granddaughter Jamie Lynn Ellis and two great-granddaughters Elizabeth and Emma, as well as numerous special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Edward and Lydia Schlenker; a grandson Justin Kosmick, and by three brothers and three sisters. Elsie was born on July 18, 1936 in Medicine Hat to Lydia and Edward Schlenker and grew up on the family farm. She received her training in Medicine Hat and Edmonton. As a young woman, Elsie worked at Gainsboro Studio in Medicine Hat. On August 2, 1955, she married Gordon Kosmick in Medicine Hat and they moved to the United States where they raised their family. In 1977, they returned to Medicine Hat to be closer to her family. Elsie’s hobbies included crossword puzzles, reading the Bible, gardening, Avon and deep conversations. She led a very happy life. Elsie was a very giving and loving person who will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 11:30 AM with Life Celebrant, David Townsend officiating.
