The company expects to deliver 770 aircraft this year, down from its previous target of 800. The jet maker has also postponed its goal of producing 75 single-aisle A320 aircraft per month by one year to 2027.

Chief among the problems seems to be the inability to get more powerplants (engines), especially with all the turmoil at Pratt & Whitney, one of the two engine options (GTF) for the A320 aircraft, the other being CFM International’s LEAP is. . Problems with Spirit Aerosystems, which produces key parts for Airbus and Boeing aircraft and is expected to be sold back to Boeing this week, could also play a role in this situation.

Airbus will also take a hit on its financial projections.
