There will be a wide variety of mangoes and tropical fruits for sale.

Summer in South Florida is synonymous with mango season and Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden has announced the return of its beloved annual Mango Festival. The festival, which celebrates nearly three decades of mango mania, will take place this year on Saturday and Sunday, July 13 and 14, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A beloved tradition nearly three decades in the making, the festival invites families and friends for a weekend packed with mango-centric activities and experiences. The 2024 Mango Festival promises a weekend of mango-themed activities for the whole family, including:

  • Mango tastings
  • Sweet mango smoothies
  • Mangolicious cocktail flight
  • Signature mango brunch
  • Wide variety of mangoes and tropical fruits for sale
  • Food vendors with mango-inspired menus
  • Sale of mango trees
  • Beer tasting presented by La Tropical
  • Garden games and music
  • Jurassic garden
  • Mango Crafts with Miss Jessica
  • Scheduled lectures by mango experts

Mango tasting:

Experience the flavors of mango fruit with three varieties grown at Fairchild’s Farm. Tastings are scheduled at half-hour intervals from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $5 each and sold on site, with limited availability.

Special events and activities:

  • Mangoes and other tropical fruit sales: 10am – 5pm, visitors take home the king of fruits, freshly grown by Fairchild
  • Mango tree sale: 10am – 5pm, with horticulturists available to assist
  • Mango Mania Bar: Featuring mango smoothies, mini mango cocktail flights and La Tropical beer tasting at Phillip’s Courtyard.

Smoothie: $7 (1), $12 (2), $16 (with spirit)

Signature Mango Brunch: Only on Sunday, July 14 from 11am to 1pm, enjoy a culinary journey featuring dishes prepared by South Florida’s best chefs.

11 a.m., “New Mango Varieties” by Nick Bernal, Seasons Farm Fresh

Afternoon, “The World of Mangoes” by Dr. Richard Campbell

2:30 p.m., “Selection, planting and pruning of young mango trees” by Jeff Wasielewski, UF/IFAS

Sunday July 14:

11am, lecture by Jonathan Crane (pending confirmation)

1 p.m., “The Fruitful Five” Mango Masters panel discussion with experts including Julian Lara, Paul Nison, Alex Salazar, Tom Suttons, Bobby Biswas and Chris Wenzel.

Reading book:

Join author Sita Singh as she reads her book, Mango memories, in the shop. This beautiful book, illustrated by Nabi H. Ali, will captivate listeners of all ages. Her book, Mango memories, will be available for sale.

Market vendors:

Discover a variety of unique products from suppliers such as Paz y Luna, Nomad Soul Design, Kreative Gardens, John’s Jungle, Healing Blends, Apu Hemp, In Your Face Delights, Vegalia, Keys Bees and Miguel Bode Honey.

Food Vendors:

Satisfy your hunger with mango-inspired dishes from:

  • El Machine Gon tacos
  • Pop sandwiches

  • Garden House Mango Display, enjoy a beautiful display of mangoes grown at Fairchild’s Farm.
  • Native Butterfly Path and Garden House Lawn, enjoy the serene beauty and vibrant life of Fairchild’s tropical paradise.
  • Jurassic Garden, explore the prehistoric themed garden.
