MLB Parlay for Wednesday Night: Ohtani and Gurriel Jr. on Fire!

There’s a great MLB schedule tonight, and I’ve identified two hitters who look primed for base hits in the later games: Shohei Ohtani and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Both have been swinging hot recently, and I expect that trend to continue.

Shohei Ohtani: Ohtani had a brief slump at the end of May, but he’s bounced back with some quality at-bats. He’s gotten a hit in six of his last seven games. While the Texas Rangers’ starting pitcher is still unknown, the price for Ohtani to get a hit (-230 on FanDuel) seems like good value. Even without a confirmed starter, the Rangers’ bullpen is one of the worst in WHIP (Walks and Hits per Inning Pitched) this season. Meanwhile, Ohtani has been scorching the ball in June, boasting a .361 batting average.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr.: Gurriel Jr. has been on fire, especially this past week. He’s recorded at least two hits in three consecutive games and has a hit in 12 out of his last 13! He’s been incredibly consistent. While his opponent, Jose Soriano, throws hard, his overall pitching metrics are average. Soriano allows a high percentage of hard-hit balls and has a relatively high average exit velocity off the bat. I believe Gurriel has a good chance of getting a hit against him, and even if not, the Angels’ bullpen is below average too. They’ve surrendered the second-worst ERA (Earned Run Average) and ninth-worst WHIP in the league so far.

With these hitters getting plus odds (+100) in a parlay for both to get a hit, I consider it a great value and recommend a 1-unit bet.
