Westchester County Bee-Line Buses Go Free This Summer

Westchester County residents can ride Bee-Line buses for free this summer, from June 20th to September 4th. The fare-free program is part of the county’s efforts to provide relief to residents struggling with rising costs. “We know that many of our residents are facing financial challenges, and we want to do our part to help,” said County Executive George Latimer. “By making Bee-Line buses free, we hope to make it easier for people to get around and save money.” The fare-free program applies to all Bee-Line buses, including express buses and paratransit services. Riders will still need to pay the $1 surcharge for the express bus service to New York City. The county is providing $10 million to fund the fare-free program. The money will come from the county’s American Rescue Plan Act funds. The fare-free program is expected to be popular, so riders are encouraged to plan ahead and allow for extra time.
