TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) โ The onshore wind pattern continues today, so a few showers should develop close to the coast this morning. As the day progresses, rain showers will push further inland and eventually to the east coast. Rain chances decrease in the early evening.
Gulf of Mexico winds will keep it moist, so highs will be in the low 90s and it will feel like 100-105 for a few hours this afternoon.
Tomorrow it will be a similar pattern, with showers developing along the coast in the morning and spreading eastwards in the afternoon. Highs remain in the low 90s.
The pattern changes this weekend and we return to a more classic Florida summer day. Saturday and Sunday start dry and it will warm up quickly. Highs will be in the mid-90s. Storms will start developing after 3pm and we should have plenty of slow rain showers in the evening.
Most of the rain will also fall in the late afternoon and evening next week. It will be hot, with highs in the mid 90s.
In the tropics, there is one tropical wave in the Caribbean that has only a 20% chance of developing, but a stronger wave in the central Atlantic now has a 70% chance of developing as it moves west. The next name on the list is Beryl.
