Man taken to hospital via Kiama after police chase

Officers from the Lake Illawarra Police District approached the vehicle, triggering a chase through the streets of Kiama. Witnesses reported seeing the vehicle and four police vehicles pursuing it on Terralong Street. For safety reasons, the chase was terminated shortly after. Police continued to monitor the vehicle until it stopped in a car park on Russell Street, Albion Park, at around 1.30 pm. The 31-year-old male driver was taken to Shellharbour Hospital by ambulance for treatment. No further information about his condition or the reasons for the chase is currently available.

Police were called to Blowhole Point Road at 1pm today following reports of the welfare of a person.

The Lake Illawarra Police District responded and approached the vehicle. Upon the arrival of the officers, a chase was initiated through the streets of Kiama.

Witnesses are said to have seen the vehicle and four police officers during a pursuit on Terralong Street this afternoon.

Due to safety reasons, the chase was stopped shortly afterwards. Police continued to monitor the vehicle before it came to a stop in a car park on Russell Street, Albion Park, at around 1.30pm.

The 31-year-old male driver was taken to Shellharbour Hospital by NSW Ambulance for treatment.
