Heyward is an acclaimed conductor and violinist who has led renowned ensembles such as the San Francisco Symphony, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Heyward will succeed Robert Spano, who has served as Music Director of the ASO since 2001.
